A resolution recently passed by the European Union will force that no more applications for Golden Visa or also called investment visas will be granted.

This resolution grants a transitional period until the year 2025 to achieve the removal of any type of application for an investment visa or Golden Visa in all the countries of the European Union.

Therefore, if you are thinking of applying for a Golden Visa, we recommend that you apply as soon as possible, before the measures start to become tougher and more inflexible to the point that any Golden Visa will no longer be granted.

There are several reasons that the European Union has stated for this, mainly arguing that long-term residences are being granted with very low investments in addition to granting nationalities, and they have also stated that the control over these permits and concessions are not being carried out correctly.

In other words, it seems that these types of permits and stays, as well as nationalities, are being granted to people whose profile has not been properly analysed and whose financial means and the origin of these means have not been properly checked.

This lack of control is leading to money laundering and undesirable persons obtaining stays and permits, something that affects the European Union as a whole.

For this reason, it has been ordered that this type of request will gradually be removed by making the measures tougher, setting a deadline of 2025 to make this type of request removed in all the countries of the European Union.
